How to use this site

The index holds 146 ideas, far too many to read one by one. This page shows you how to get down to a shortlist of about five in a couple of minutes.

Rule things out first

The three buttons above the table do most of the work, and they combine. Tap Remote and No startup cost together and you are looking only at ideas you could begin tonight, from home, for free. Add Passive income and the list gets short enough to read every entry that is left.

Filters opens everything else: category, startup cost, earnings, effort, and how quickly the first payment tends to arrive. Every filter narrows the same list, and the count above the table tells you how many ideas remain.

What the figures mean

• $ / month is a realistic range for part-time work, before tax and expenses. It is a range because results vary widely, and most people land in the lower half.
• cost is what you would spend before your first paying customer, including equipment and fees.
• hrs/wk is the weekly time the earnings range assumes.
• effort runs from Beginner, meaning anyone can start today, to Expert, meaning years of skill or a license.

Open anything that looks interesting

Tap a row and it opens right there. You get the cost, hours, and effort up top, a plain description of the work, and a note about the market when there is something worth knowing, like a crowded field or demand outrunning supply. Show full details adds how the work actually operates and how people get started. Save that reading for your shortlist.

Vote, and read the comments

You can vote any idea up or down, and the default ordering follows those votes. Ideas nobody here has voted on yet are ranked by the attention they drew on the communities where each one was first reported, and then by how easy they are to start.

Comments are open to everyone without an account, and they sort by votes, so the useful ones rise. The best comments come from people who have done the work and can say what the numbers get wrong. You can reply to anyone.

Add what is missing

The index grows from what readers send in. The Submit button next to the filters takes two required fields and a minute of your time. Every submission is read by a person, and the ones that check out get added.
