Privacy

This site uses no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising trackers. Everything it stores is listed below.

Things that never leave your browser

  • Search and filters. The whole index is sent to your browser and searched there. What you type in the search box is never sent to a server, which is also why the index needs JavaScript to work.
  • Which ideas you voted on and whether you turned on loading more as you scroll. These sit in your browser's local storage, so clearing your browser data erases them and this site has no copy to restore.

Things that are stored on the server

  • Vote totals. The score for each idea, plus a random id your browser generates so it can change its own vote later. That id only identifies your browser and is not linked to anything else about you.
  • Comments. The name you typed, the text, and the time. The name you enter is published exactly as written, so pick one you are happy to see in public.
  • Submitted ideas. What you fill into the submission form, including an email address if you choose to give one, which is used only to reply to you about that submission.
  • A scrambled version of your IP address. This is used to stop one person from voting many times or flooding the comments, and the scrambling cannot be reversed to reveal the original address.

Things that are not collected at all

No accounts, no passwords, no analytics or measurement scripts, no advertising or social media trackers, no cookies set by this site, and no profiles built about you. Nothing is sold or shared with data brokers.

Other companies

The site is hosted on Cloudflare, which processes requests and keeps standard server logs on our behalf. Links that leave this site take you to companies with their own privacy policies, which are worth reading before you sign up for anything.

Removing something

If you want a comment or submission deleted, name it and it will be removed, no reason needed. Write to [email protected] or use the contact page. Depending on where you live, you may also have a legal right to see or delete any information held about you, and the same request handles that too.
